We now see a Blue Checkmark for @OceanCity on our Twitter Page
Well, why not? We have had this “fan account” for Ocean City, Maryland since May, 2008. That is, of this posting, nearly 15 years – almost an eternity in Internet time. @OceanCity is now a “Verified” Twitter account.
Twitter is still a viable form of social media for marketing our landscape and seascape photography. Being a “Verified” tweeter gives this account a bit of extra credibility. Perception and a positive image are beneficial to any sales endeavor. If you also use Twitter please go ahead and click on over there to give this Twitter account a follow.
Sure, there have been a raft of social media memes about how badly the new ownership is doing but I do not believe it is going to fly away any time soon. Twitter had a lot of “problems” that had been ignored for a long time – mainly fake accounts, run by bots, that spread like wildfire. I do believe that problem is being addressed because we are seeing fewer “bogus” advertisements every day.

In conclusion, verified twitter accounts can be a great way to increase your credibility as an influencer and ultimately boost your brand. They help establish trust with potential customers and followers, so it’s worth taking the time to get verified. Additionally, having a verified account can provide benefits such as access to Twitter analytics and special offers from Twitter itself. With all these advantages, it’s easy to see why many people are choosing to get their accounts verified on Twitter. We did.

Bob, I pre-paid for the year on this one – because I have seen some benefits on my personal account over the last couple of months. I hope to see Twitter get itself cleaned up and profitable – to allow us all to do better.
